Boxee Goes Beta

The beta release of Boxee includes:
• A redesigned interface
• Improved navigation
• The ability to search for TV shows and movies both on the Internet and on local networks
• A queuing function, most likely similar to what Hulu has now.
• Shortcuts for apps, movies, and other programs
The beta will be available for four weeks as part of a special early access period for existing Boxee users before the beta version is officially released on January 7th at CES, presumably along with an announcement about the Boxee set-top box.
I have been playing with the Beta of Boxee since it was released on 9th December (2 days after the official announcement) and i can report that so far its working very well. I have noticed a few problems, Manual indexing of movies has been left out so many of my movies are not yet showing but this is a known issue and Team Boxee are working on it. Unfortunately my HTPC (Harold) is out of order at the moment due to a faulty touchscreen but i will be back in action as soon as possible to continue testing this fantastic media player software Watch this space.
